Stories - Sarah Jane

Fifteen year old Sarah Jane received many antibiotics during the first two years of her life. At age three and a half she began to be troubled by such severe behavior problems that her pediatrician sent her to a child development center. She was tried on different drugs, but none of them helped. Her physician, pediatric neurologist J. T. Jabbour of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center referred her to me.

Following dietary detective work, her parents found that chocolate, sugar, food dyes, yeast, and other foods triggered her symptoms. Because of Sarah Jane's history of multiple antibiotics, I prescribed antiyeast medication and nutritional supplements.

Today Sarah Jane is an honor student and a pleasure to her parents, teachers and friends.
